A Nasal Splint is Placed on the Nose After a Nose Job

The splint and tapes for the patient’s nose will be placed there for about a week. A small dressing will accompany the patient at home over the lower half of their nose , which will generally be required only for the first few hours of the day after the procedure. The patient will receive specific instructions from their post-operative plastic surgery office after the ‘ surgery.

The splint is removed approximately one week after the procedure . Most of the swelling will be resolved within the first weeks after the ‘ nose surgery . However, there may be some small amount of swelling that are persistent for many months or even a year or more after the ‘ surgery. The more subtle changes may take up to a year or more to see by following the procedure . The decision to have a nasal contouring procedure performed on you will be personal .
